year of the snake

2013: The year of the snake

While unlucky for some, 2013 has been pretty damn good for me.  As it draws to a close here are some of my highlights…

Firstly, I FINALLY overcame my fear of flying (woohoo!) with about 10 mini breaks around Europe to christen my new found freedom.

One of my biggest achievements was definitely passing the behemoth of the WSET Diploma, whilst holding down a full-time job, and starting my blog. (As you can probably ascertain, I don’t like doing anything by halves …  This year was very much reminiscent of when I studied for and sat my WSET Advanced whilst I was writing my final university dissertation and working. Yes, I am a little bit mental.)

The little blog project I started, has since developed into this full on website which I’m really very proud of. Plus a couple of articles published off the back of it. There is much more to come in early 2014 so stay tuned!

2013 has also seen a lot of great food and wine pairing, here are some of my personal favourites matches in case you missed them first time around:

Feeling Fresh

Gnocch-gnocch-gnocchin’ on heaven’s door

Nobu: Umami Central

A match made in heaven

On the sushi train

A sommelier’s wine

Risotto with an identity crisis

2013: it’s been epic.

2014: BRING IT ON!
