Remember me? You may have noticed that there has been a bit of a blogging amnesty recently… Apologies! I’ve had a couple of top secret projects on the go, and I can’t reveal to you what they are quite yet, but I am very excited about them.
On this cold, windy and downright autumnal night I’m bringing you the delights of a sunny September trip to Barcelona.
Almost a month ago now, I hit up Barca for the first time, and boy what treats did the city have in store for me. I ate some of the freshest seafood I have had in my life, including a lot of amazing tapas and some downright delicious ceviche too.
Wine-wise I stuck with local Spanish varietals that can be rather tricky to get your hands on in the UK.
Godello is slowly becoming more popular here, but it’s hardly hit the mainstream yet. If you want to try some then Majestic have a broader product range than most, including the As Caixas Godello 2012 Martín Codax (£9.99).
As for reds we tried a great Bierzo, which went down a little too easily!
The Mencia grape used to make these mid-weight reds often doesn’t find its way out of Spain, but again Majestic saves the day with this upmarket example: Pétalos Bierzo 2011 Descendientes de J. Palacios (£18.74).
Here are some of my holiday photos… Warning: may contain drool-worthy foody snaps.
